About
Mary Lou
Like many women, Mary
Lou Quinlan grew up trying to do the right
thing. A self-professed Type
A good girl, her persistence
paid off in a high-powered
career as CEO of a large New York ad
agency, until
one day, after 20 years of over-working,
she hit a moment of truth… and
walked away from her overscheduled life for five
unprecedented
weeks.
Thanks to the space of that time off, she
changed her life. Her fascination with women’s
reluctance to give themselves a break is behind
her new book, Time Off for Good Behavior. In
her new book, she interviews 40 other women
who dared to step away from
their routines and recreate
their lives.
A nationally recognized speaker, author and marketing
consultant, Mary Lou heads her own
women’s consultancy called Just
Ask a Woman,
also the title of her first book. She has received
numerous honors including Advertising
Woman of the Year from Ad Women of New York and the Matrix
Award for Communication from New York Women in
Communications. She’s been featured
in The New York Times, The Wall St. Journal,
Business Week and on CNBC, CNN and NPR. She’s written
for O, The Oprah Magazine, Marie Claire, Fast
Company and MORE.
She is a member of the board
of trustees of her alma mater, Saint Joseph’s
University and a board director for 1800Flowers.com. |
